F.A.Q and Things you need to know
General Camp Information
Am I able to walk in without pre-registering?
Franklin does allow walk-ins on a first-come, first-serve basis. An additional $10 fee per day will apply with less than 48 hours notice.
What are the hours of camp?
Camp runs from 9am – 4pm, Monday-Friday. (There will be no camp on July 4th.)
Is there care available before 9am and after 4pm?
Extended care is offered from 7:30am – 9am and from 4pm – 6pm for an additional $10 per day. (Members are free.) This fee must be paid each day at the camp desk, or the credit card on file will be charged. All participants must have a valid credit card on file.
How do I qualify for member rates?
Member rates are reserved only for children who are Omni members at Franklin Athletic Club. For more information, contact member services.
What is the benefit of membership for my family?
Membership will save you up to $50 per week for each camper, allow your children up to 2 free hours of childcare per day, provide you access to our state of the art fitness center and group exercise classes and give you full use of our indoor and outdoor pools as well as other club amenities. Membership will also allow your child free extended care for all summer camps that they are enrolled in.
How do I pre-register my child for camp?
Pre-registration begins January 1, 2012. In order to pre-register your child, the registration form and waiver must be filled out completely, along with your credit card number. You will automatically be charged for your camp the Friday before each camp week begins.
What if my child is sick or unable to attend camp?
Camp Credit is available for illnesses with a doctor’s note or for emergency situations only – no cash refunds.
Can I make changes to my child's camp schedule after I have registered them?
Changes are permitted, but there will be a $10 administrative fee associated with each change. This will apply when switching from one camp to another, or when cancelling camps that have been reserved in advance.
Does Franklin have a hot lunch option?
Cheese pizza and a drink can be purchased for $5 per day, per camper. This option must be reserved and paid for at the camp desk each morning, or the credit card on file will be charged. Children may bring their own lunch as well.
Please remember that we are PEANUT FREE.
Full day campers should bring at least two peanut-free snacks. Franklin does not provide snacks.
What should we bring?
Each camper should bring with them a swimsuit, towel, spray on sunscreen, a change of clothes, water shoes, two peanut free snacks and a bag in which to keep their belongings.
Please label everything your child brings to camp.
Have your child wear comfortable clothing with tennis shoes. Please leave all jewelry at home
Franklin is not responsible for lost items. We will have a lost and found for items that are turned in without a name.
No personal toys or electronics are allowed at camp.
What if my child needs medication?
All medication must be in it’s original bottle with the child’s name on it. All parents must fill out a medication permission form provided by your camp director. All medication will be kept by staff in a secure location. Medication should never be left in a child’s possession.
Is my child able to use the store to purchase a snack or drink?
No child will be permitted to use the store to purchase food or drink items during camp. If you would like to use the store to purchase these items, please go with your child before dropping them off at camp.
What is your discipline policy?
When a behavior problem occurs, the parent will be consulted. Parents and staff will work together to find an acceptable solution. If a child’s behavior poses a consistent concern and parents and counselors can find no workable solution, Franklin Athletic Club retains the right to withdraw the child from the program.
When is payment due?
Full payment is due weekly on the Friday before your camp week begins. If you have reserved your child’s spot in one of our camp programs, your credit card will automatically be billed the Friday before your child is scheduled to attend camp. By reserving your child’s spot in any camp, you are authorizing payment to be processed the Friday before. Payments can be made by cash, check or major credit card.
Will my child swim every day?
Campers will swim in our outdoor pools every day, weather permitting. If your child needs a life vest or flotation device, please label them and send them with your child every day. We have staff members and lifeguards on duty at all times. In the event of bad weather, all campers ages 5years and up will swim in our indoor pool. Campers ages 3-4years will not swim, as we do not have a shallow kiddie pool indoors.
Will my child play on the tennis courts every day?
Unless your child is enrolled in one of our tennis camps, they will not play on the tennis courts every day. Campers ages 5 and up will have the opportunity to play games on the courts at least twice a week.
